Fruga, What is-it ?
Fruga is a static site generator (SSG). Frugality is a important term to me, whether it's digital or everyday life. So this name came quite naturally. There are many ways to build a website. For those of you who are new to this, I invite you to read this short story.
A static site generator generates a set of raw HTML pages from template and content. The result is a naturally lightweight, high-performance, secure site.
Of course, it's not the perfect solution for all projects but for many of them.
To manage content, you can choose to manipulate files with a text editor (my favorite method) or back to the generator a headless CMS (Strapi, Cockpit CMS ...).
Why Fruga ?
There are many static site generators available. Hugo, Astro for example.
I wanted a generator written in PHP, light, minimalist and as raw as possible.
I didn't want to pile up many concepts to make it easier to get started.
My website, it's about 150 pages when I'm writing these lines. My notebook only needs 0,12 second to generate it.
Fruga is licenced under GPL. It's a free software.
